Today, genre-bending heavy alt-rock duo Nova Twins (guitarist/vocalist Amy Love and bassist Georgia South) have announced details of their highly anticipated sophomore album. Aptly titled “Supernova” the album is set for release through Marshall Records on June 17th. The band will be touring France in early March, and has rescheduled the rest of their European dates to August & November. Keep scrolling to see the dates.
“Supernova” is a piece of work that’s fearlessly itself – once again playing with genre and rich in different moods, textures, and layers, all the while retaining that purity and simplicity of the essential elements: South, Love, bass, guitars, drums, and a whole lot of energy. Ultimately, it captures the tension and release that we’ve all been through lately, while imagining what’s to come. Speaking on the album, Amy and Georgia said, “‘Supernova’ is the beginning of a new era. As we delved into the unknown, making this album became our medicine through a turbulent time. It’s a reflection of where we were and how far we have come, encased in a fantasy world that we imagined. ‘Supernova’ is made out of dreams, triumphs and colourful nightmares. When you get to the other side, you will always come out a winner”.
Following in the wake of the tidal wave that was “Antagonist”, Nova Twins (this week’s Kerrang! Magazine cover stars) have released “K.M.B.”, a devious earworm, which takes elements of hip-hop and Destiny’s Child before birthing a D12-style horror fantasy dose of rap-punk. Standing for “Kill My Boyfriend”, the band created an incredible tongue in cheek treatment for the accompanying video, which sees another co-directorial effort to stunning effect. “’K.M.B.’ will stitch-up the hearts of the heartbroken, teaching the ones who broke it a lesson”, says Nova Twins of the track. “Inspired by the sound and feel of the 90’s, we wrote and filmed our version of a playful horror movie. Think Mean Girls meets Clueless meets Pulp Fiction. Somewhere between those storylines is where you will find ‘K.M.B.’”.
