John Wolfhooker (CZ) release new EP “626”

John Wolfhooker

John Wolfhooker is a four-piece band from Prague describing themselves as an alt-rock salad peppered with progressive breakdowns and pop melodies. That all served with very energetic live shows.

During their existence, the band has self-sufficiently recorded three full length albums along with almost 30 music videos mostly produced by band’s drummer Adrian Janecek.

Since 2015 JW have played several festivals and tours over the world including main stage on the Rock for People festival (CZ) or Envol et Macadam (CAN) and supporting bands like Rise Against, Hollywood Undead, Our Last Night or Enter Shikari.

The band is noted for the talent of the guitarist (and producer) of the band Rony Janecek, who is considered one of the Europe’s best guitarists of his generation. For the last 5 years Rony has been also a part of the project Rock the Opera, where he plays as a solo guitarist. The concerts happen all over the Europe’s biggest and oldest opera houses in Austria, Germany, Italy, Greece and UK accompanied by Prague Symphonic Orchestra or (in the UK) by BBC Symphonic Orchestra.

Bassist and vocalist Filip Vlcek was part of Eurovision 2021 as a music producer of one of the semifinal songs.

The drummer Adrian Janecek is one of the very few official Czech artists for one of the biggest names in drum world – Meinl Cymbals and Meinl Sticks and Brushes (including drummers like Benny Greb, Matt Garstka or Matt Halpern).

Their 2019 album “313” got nominated for Ceny Andel “Czech grammy awards” in Rock category. In 2021 John Wolfhooker released their single „Tidal Wave“ featuring the biggest name in Czech pop/rap right now – Ben Cristovao. This single made it to the main rotation on the biggest Czech mainstream radio Evropa2 where it stayed for 6 months. The band already released two singles from their upcoming EP 626 – which is out since March 18.
